How to Get Involved

If you want to be a part of transforming the next generation of youth, there are many ways you can become involved!

Volunteer

We are in need of volunteers to help with everything from office work to hosting donor events to serving on the board of directors!  Our current committees are listed and described below:

OPERATON IPS COMMITTEE: For many years, we have desired to teach our curriculum in the IPS schools.  We believe it is time to re-visit this venture and make it happen!  We have a need for people with contacts in the IPS school system or with experience teaching in the inner city, as well as people with a heart for these kids.
BENEVON COMMITTEE: In these economic times, every non–profit company must visit new and creative ways to generate funds.  We will send 8 people to be trained in an extremely successful fundraising model that focuses on creating sustainable funding with primarily individual donors.  We would like to encourage you to visit www.benevon.com and watch the 17 minute video to learn more about it and then join the Benevon committee!
CURRICULUM REVISION COMMITTEE: Relevant and realistic?  Our curriculum is consistently praised as being one of the best abstinence curricula in the country, but we are committed to spending the next year asking the tough questions.  We believe the changes will be subtle, but even two degrees can have a significant impact.
OPERATION PARENT FOCUS COMMITTEE: Through parent seminars and workshops and our in-school parent awareness meetings, we hope to better communicate with parents the influence they can have on their teens and hopefully cut off the ripple to keep their teens in steadier water.

If you are interested in being a volunteer, call or email the Executive Director.

Classroom Instructors

The Central Indiana headquarters provides teachers to travel to schools in the eight counties in and around Indianapolis, and we are usually looking for teachers to meet our growing needs!  This is a paid, part-time position. Read the instructor job description. If you have further questions regarding the position or if you would like to apply, please call or email the Program Director.

Spread the Word!

If you support the whole person adolescent health approach to sexuality education, please let your school administration, community leaders and government officials know by calling, talking to them in person, or writing a letter. The type of education our children receive is an often-debated topic. For example, the 2010 budget as proposed by the current administration eliminates the federal funding for abstinence-only education programs. Many of the organizations which provide this type of education to our teens rely on this funding to remain active. We need your help to Spread the Word in order to keep this message alive, reduce our healthcare costs, welfare costs, and other results of unwanted pregnancies. Your input can help keep this vital message taught in schools across the country.
