Job Description Part-time Instructor

Hours: Available to Teach 50 Hours/Month, September – May
Compensation: $15/hour + 45 cents/mile after the first 30 miles round trip

Objective:

 To teach healthy relationships and abstinence education with a whole adolescent health approach in public and private school settings.

Reports to:

 Program Director, Karyn Mitchel

Duties:

  • Be available to teach at least 50 hours per month, September – May.
  • Attend meetings for all staff, including but not limited to, the beginning of the year party, end of the year party and up to two in-services per year.
  • Observe at least one full week of a teacher you have not yet observed each school year.
  • Complete certification process as outlined below.

 Certification Steps:

  1. Interview with CPR’s Program Director.
  2. Complete the training. For middle school certification training, it is a 2 day commitment. For middle school and high school certification, it is a 3-day training.
  3. Observe and Co-Teach.  You will shadow a CPR teacher for one week in the classroom for each grade level. You will observe 2 classes, co-teach with the CPR teacher for one class and teach 2 classes as the CPR teacher observes. . During your training week, the Program Director observes your teaching and approves you to begin on the schedule as a paid teacher.
  4. Certification.  During your training week, the Program Director observes your teaching and approves you to begin on the schedule as a paid teacher.
