What is a Parenting 9-1-1 Seminar?

 A two hour Biblically based workshop for parents of pre-teen and teen years wanting to remain strong and courageous during turbulent sexual times when our society is filled with mixed messages on the responsibility, impact, and seriousness of sexual behavior.

“Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body.”  1 Corinthians 6:17-19

It was as if the ripple effect of early sexual activity on so many aspects of a person’s life was a tangible manifestation of the unique nature of sexual sin.  This verse has taken on a new dimension for me.  I am so grateful to have the tools to equip my kids for the best future possible.  They are not growing up in the world I did, and the threats they face have inspired me to tackle this issue with them immediately.”

What do we cover in the seminar?

 Parent 9-1-1 will give you a firm and practical foundation as parents to talk to your kids about sex and will help you set goals and boundaries for their immediate and future success.   (I Thes. 4:3-8)

 We will also cover:

• Dating guidelines for today,
• Dating guidelines for their future,
• Communication/Making and finding teachable moments (Deut. 11:18-21), and
• The importance of being connected and involved in this busy time of life
• Demonstrations to bring the message to your kids visually
• A Teen Panel to give us first-hand knowledge of what teens are facing.
• A guest speaker, if desired, to address topics of importance that our teens are facing including but not limited to sexually transmitted infections, internet safety, sex-ting, teen relationship abuse, bullying, teen depression, eating disorders, stress management, and much more...

 Parents will also learn some startling statistics about the danger facing our kids today that will motivate them to discuss this hard issue in a practical and effective way.

 
How do we bring a Parenting 9-1-1 Seminar to our small group, bible study, life group or church?

We request a donation of $250 to hold a Parenting 9-1-1 Seminar at your location.  We will coordinate the guest speakers and teen panel.  We would ask that you advertise the event to your parents, grandparents, and anyone else who walks with a teenage on their journey through life.
